The fresh prince of Bel-Air, Will Smith has truly conquered everything he has ventured into, from music to movies, and now it seems Smith is ready to take on another challenge, this time, in the public office. During an appearance on Crooked Media’s “Pod Save America” podcast, the 52-year-old revealed that he has plans to venture into politics.
“I think for now I’ll let that office get cleaned up a little bit and then I’ll consider that at some point down the line,” he said. “I absolutely have an opinion, I’m optimistic, I’m hopeful, I believe in understanding between people and I believe in the possibility of harmony.”
Added Smith, “I will certainly do my part, whether it remains artistic or, at some point, ventures into the political arena.”
This is not the first time Smith has brought up going into politics, back in 2015, he said the then-controversial comments by the now-former president, Donald Trump will force him into politics.
“If people keep saying all the crazy kinds of stuff they’ve been saying on the news lately about walls and Muslims, they’re going to force me into the political arena,” he told “CBS Sunday Morning.”
“I was thinking about it but, you know, I watched [Barack] Obama for the last eight years [and] that’s a hard job,” he told, “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” in 2016. “I definitely have had the itching. I have lots of views and ideas and sometimes I hear people say things on television and I just want to run against them.”
