The Weeknd fans can look forward o new music in the coming days. The multi-award-winning singer/songwriter has taken to Twitter to announce that he will be releasing a new song through the innovative format on social media this Friday.

The Canadian artist is of course not the first as the likes of Wu-Tang Clan, Post Malone, Gorillaz and many others have already made sales or traded through the platform.
NFT are described as a special class of cryptocurrency assets that are entirely unique to the holder or owner. It’s a unique sale where it’s attached with a computer code so that only one person that own that piece.
In recent news concerning the ‘Feel It Coming’ singer, in the early days of March, he announced that he will no longer allow his record label to submit music for the nominations, tagging them as corrupt.
“I think we should stop allowing ourselves to be shocked every year by the disconnect between impactful music and these awards and just accept that what once was the highest form of recognition may no longer matter to the artists that exist now and the ones that come after,” Drake wrote. “It’s like a relative you keep expecting to fix up but they just can’t change their ways.”
“The other day I said @theweeknd was a lock for either album or song of the year along with countless other reasonable assumptions and it just never goes that way,” he added.
